Psalm 73:28 says “But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.” You probably already caught on by now. This is my favorite verse in the Bible. As I have grown as a writer who is fascinated by theology, current events and global realities, I wanted to produce blogs that center their approach to some of the hardest and realest issues of our time around the theme found in Psalm 73. In verse 28, a declaration is made - that our life belongs to God, that our worth and safety is found in Him, and for the rest of our days we get to tell of His works to all we come into contact with. It is my hope that those who read my blogs will not merely stumble upon another opinion, but will read between the lines of our writing as I seek to point to the author and perfecter of my faith. Instead, through consistent, committed discipleship based on God’s Word, countless people have uncovered and found freedom from struggles like substance abuse, codependency, pornography, eating disorders, pride, depression, fear, control, emotional/physical abuse, same-sex attraction, people-pleasing, anger, obsessive thoughts, and more. From serving as worship pastors, to being the congregant of Presbyterian, Baptist and Non-Denominational Churches, I found a sweet and precious medium at NHBC as I conclude my time in ministry and enjoy the precious role of a congregant again :)
